Who we are

In short: finduni.ai is run by Find Uni Private Limited in Kathmandu.

Find Uni Private Limited, Dillibazar, Kathmandu, Nepal, runs finduni.ai and is responsible for your personal data on it. Questions about this policy or your data: email bookings@finduni.ai or message us on WhatsApp at +977 986-131-1262.

02

What we collect

In short: Your account, your practice, your bookings and payments, and how you use the site.
  • Account details: your name, email address and password (held by our sign-in service; we never see it), and your WhatsApp number if you give it. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name, email address and the link to your profile picture.
  • Study details: the university and course you tell us for your interview practice.
  • Interview practice: the text of your answers (spoken answers are turned into text; the audio is not kept), your scores and feedback, and the transcript of a UKVI interview. For speaking practice, the transcript and your pronunciation scores; the audio is not kept. In a mock interview with the camera on, the video stays on your device: we record only when you looked away, when no face or more than one face was in view, and for how long.
  • Test bookings: your name, phone number, email address and date of birth, the test, centre and date, a previous score if you give one, a scan of your passport's photo page and your payment receipt. For PTE and Duolingo, if you give us your test account's login, we keep it encrypted and delete it as soon as your booking is made or cancelled, and after 14 days at most.
  • Payments: the screenshot of your payment receipt, the amount, the package and any promo code. We never see your card or your bank or wallet login.
  • Chats with Tankey and the tools: what you type is sent to our AI provider to answer you. We do not save it.
  • Usage data: the pages you visit and what you click, your device and browser, and your rough location from your internet address.
03

How we use it

In short: To run your practice, check payments, book tests and help you.
  • to score your practice and show you feedback and progress;
  • to check your payments and add your sessions;
  • to book your English test with the test provider;
  • to answer your questions and help when something goes wrong;
  • to email you about your account, payments, bookings and results;
  • to see how the site is used, fix problems and keep it secure.
04

Who we share it with

In short: Only the services that run finduni, the test provider when you book, and your consultancy if you have one.

The table at the top of this page lists the services that run finduni, what each does with your data, and where. They use it only to provide their service to us.

When you book a test, our team registers you with the test provider (IDP, the British Council, Pearson VUE or Duolingo) using the details you gave us. Their own privacy policies then apply.

If you practise through an education consultancy's portal, that consultancy can see your answers, scores and feedback, including UKVI interview and speaking practice transcripts, and your email address and phone number.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with others only when the law requires us to.

05

Where your data is stored

In short: Our database is in South Korea. Some services run in other countries.

Our database and files are stored with Supabase in Seoul, South Korea, and our website's server code runs in Seoul too. Some of the services we use process data in other countries, as the table shows: OpenAI in the United States, PostHog in the European Union, and our email inbox in Australia.

06

How long we keep it

In short: While your account is open, with a few fixed limits.
  • Your account and practice: we keep them while your account is open, and delete them when you ask us to, unless we must keep something for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Passport scans: deleted 30 days after your test booking is completed or cancelled.
  • Test account logins (PTE and Duolingo): deleted when the booking is made or cancelled, and after 14 days at most.
  • Payment receipts and purchase records: kept for our accounts. If you delete your account, your purchase records keep the amount, package, date and status, but no longer your name, email address or phone number. The receipt itself is kept.
  • Test bookings: we keep them, and delete your details from them when you ask us to, unless we must keep something for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Analytics: Microsoft Clarity keeps its recordings for 30 days. PostHog keeps usage data under its own settings.
07

Your choices

In short: See, correct or delete your data by asking us.

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account and its data. Email bookings@finduni.ai or message us on WhatsApp at +977 986-131-1262, and we reply within business days (Sunday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM Nepal time). We check that the request comes from you, from the email address or WhatsApp number on your account.

Your WhatsApp number is optional. Leave it out if you prefer email.

08

Cookies and analytics

In short: Some storage keeps you signed in; analytics show how the site is used.

finduni stores a few things in your browser:

  • Your sign-in: kept in your browser's storage so you stay signed in. It is needed for your account to work.
  • A booking in progress: the booking pages keep your details for the visit, and a passport or receipt you attached for up to 6 hours, in your browser only, so a reload does not lose them.
  • The free practice at /try: your answers wait in your browser until you sign in, then they are scored and saved to your account.
  • PostHog (a cookie and browser storage) measures which pages are used and what is clicked. It receives your account's ID when you are signed in, never your name, email address or phone number.
  • Vercel Analytics counts visits and measures page speed without cookies.
  • Microsoft Clarity (the cookies _clck and _clsk) records how signed-out visitors use our public pages, with the text on the page hidden. It never runs when you are signed in, or on the student portal, a consultancy's pages or our admin.

We use no advertising trackers. There is no cookie choice on the site today: these tools run as described. You can block or clear cookies in your browser; signing in needs your browser's storage.

09

Students under 18

In short: Use finduni with your parent or guardian's permission.

If you are under 18, please use finduni with your parent or guardian's permission.

10

Keeping your data safe

In short: Only the people who need your data can see it.

Passport scans and payment receipts are stored privately: only our team can open them. Test account logins are encrypted. Your account's data can be read by you and by our team, and by your consultancy if you practise through one.

No system is perfectly secure. Keep your password private, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.

11

Changes to this policy

In short: We update the date at the top when this policy changes.

We may update this policy as finduni changes. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page.

12
