How PTE dates work
PTE Academic has no single national test calendar in Nepal. Each authorised test centre runs its own sessions, and each session has a limited number of seats.
- Dates are per centre: one centre may have seats on a day when another in the same city has none.
- Dates fill: busy periods before university intakes go first.
- Dates are released over time, so a centre with nothing listed today may have dates later.
This guide lists no specific dates on purpose. They change daily, and a date printed here would soon be wrong.
How far ahead to book
Pearson needs a booking at least 24 hours before the test. That is the minimum, not a plan: when you book through finduni.ai your payment is checked by a person first, and the date you want may be gone by then.
Booking well ahead also keeps your options open. Pearson lets you reschedule free of charge more than 14 days before the test, so an early booking can still move if your preparation runs behind. The full rules are in PTE rescheduling and cancellation.
Where to see open dates
Each PTE city page lists its centres, and every centre carries a marker: "Dates open" when it has an upcoming date with a seat left, or "No dates listed right now, message us" when it does not.
- Kathmandu
- Pokhara
- Chitwan: no centre in the city itself right now, see the page for the nearest option
- Biratnagar: no centre in the city itself right now, see the page for the nearest option
- Butwal
- Itahari
To pick an actual date, go to the booking page, choose PTE and your centre, and the dates on offer are shown there.
Plan around result timing
Pearson says, of PTE Academic UKVI: "Most test takers get their results within two business days; some take up to five business days." PTE Academic UKVI has the same content, format and scoring as PTE Academic. The only difference is a Unique Reference Number (URN), which some UK visa applications require.
Plan as if your result will take the longer time. Work back from the date a university or visa application needs your score, and leave room for a second attempt if the first falls short.
A score is valid for two years from the test date. That is Pearson's rule; a university or visa route can set its own limit on how recent a score must be, so check what yours asks for.
A simple way to choose your date
- Write down the deadline your score is needed by.
- Leave time for results to arrive, and for a retake if you might need one.
- Check you are ready: take a scored practice test first (see the PTE preparation guide).
- Look at the city pages for centres with dates open, and pick the earliest date that fits.
- Book on the booking page, entering your name exactly as it is on your passport.
If no date suits you
Message finduni.ai on WhatsApp. A centre in a nearby city may have seats, and the team can tell you when to check back. The cities finduni.ai books in are listed in PTE test centres in Nepal, and the current price is in the PTE fee guide.
