IELTS Test Dates in Nepal: How They Work and How to Get One

Why there is no fixed calendar to memorise, how to check which centres have dates open, and how to plan your test around a university or visa deadline.

How often IELTS runs in Nepal

In Nepal the test is IELTS on Computer. Listening, Reading and Writing are on computer, and Speaking is face to face with an examiner. IDP says IELTS on Computer runs up to 7 days a week in Nepal. Source: IDP Nepal, IELTS test dates, fees and locations.

That is the most a centre can offer, not a promise that every centre has a seat every day. What you can actually book depends on the centre, the week and how many other students have already taken the seats.

Why dates fill up and change

An IELTS date is a limited number of seats at one centre. Once they are taken, that date is gone for that centre, even if the same date is still open somewhere else.

  • Intake seasons: seats go faster in the weeks before university application and visa deadlines, when many students book at once.
  • Centre schedules: a centre can add or remove sessions, so a date you saw last week may not be there now, and a new one may have appeared.

So treat any list of IELTS dates you find online as out of date. The only dates that count are the ones you can book right now.

Check which centres have dates open

Each city page lists the IELTS centres finduni.ai books in that city, and marks each one "Dates open" or "No dates listed right now, message us". Start with the city you can travel to most easily:

A city with no IELTS centre in finduni.ai's system is not listed. If your city is missing, the IELTS test centres guide explains why, and the booking page shows every centre you can book.

How to find and secure a date

  • Pick your test first. Most students going abroad to study need IELTS Academic. If you are unsure, read IELTS Academic vs General Training. For a UK application, check whether you need IELTS for UKVI before you book anything.
  • Choose the centre and date on the booking page. It lists the centres finduni.ai books and the dates available at each.
  • Pay and upload your receipt. finduni.ai checks the payment and confirms your booking.
  • Treat the date as yours only once it is confirmed. Looking at an open date does not reserve a seat, so if a particular day matters, book it rather than waiting.

If you want the Writing on Paper option, confirm with IDP that it is offered on your date and at your centre before you pay. The Writing on Paper guide explains how it works.

How long to leave before your deadline

Work backwards from the earliest deadline that needs your score, whether that is a university's offer condition, a CAS request or a visa application. Then leave room for three things:

  • Getting the date you want: in busy months the nearest open date may be later than you expect.
  • Your result: IDP gives the expected result date when you book. Check it against your deadline before you pay, rather than relying on a figure from another website.
  • A second attempt: if you miss the band score you need, you want time to prepare and sit again without missing your intake.

If all three do not fit comfortably before your deadline, book sooner. A date a little earlier than you feel ready for is usually easier to manage than a score that arrives too late.

Before test day

Once your date is confirmed, plan your preparation around it. The IELTS preparation guide covers a study plan, and the IELTS price guide explains what you pay and how booking through finduni.ai compares with the official fee.

Check your confirmation for the reporting time and the ID you need to bring, and make sure the name on your booking matches your passport exactly.
